On the Come Up: Cole Davis

Cole Davis is a singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist, violinist, and violist. The only thing more varied than her choice of instrument is her musical style and genre. Classically trained in the violin and viola, she traded them in for the piano, the guitar and the pen. Her music is a blend of R&B grooves and the composition of jazz brought together by a profound lyrical statement.

Born and bred in the Bay Area of California, Davis was strongly influenced by music of different generations and disciplines including the essential music of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Carole King; 90's rock artist such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Alanis Morissette; and country & bluegrass artists like Alison Krauss and Union Station, Nickel Creek and Clay Walker.

Ferris Wheel, the inaugural release solely written and composed by Cole Davis, is a musical hybrid of R&B, jazz, folk and soul. All the elements are joined by her perspective on relationships and the world we live in. "Far From The Tree" examines family relationships while "The Cost" ask us all to question our relationship in our world; lyrics that provoke an inner dialogue yet beg for the truth to be shared with one another. Davis is garnering fans through her expanding tour efforts and the worldwide visibility of the internet.

Cole Davis has risen to the challenge and crafted a musical collection that is compelling and soul stirring. Ferris Wheel (Semaj Records) is a CD with all the elements of a classic. Cole Davis has all the attributes of a musical star.
